LET'S TALK ABOUT NEOPRENE LININGS
At Magic Marine we have carefully chosen and developed different linings to maximise comfort in each of our neoprene products and improve their performance. In short, the lining on the inside of the neoprene is used for insolation, it keeps you warm and comfortable. In this month's tech update we talk about the different linings we developed and what they can do for you. So you can carefully pick the perfect neoprene product for optimum comfort on the water. We also share our neoprene care instructions and reveal our neoprene bestsellers!
Merino lining is a naturally warm, odor-resistant and antibacterial lining with body temperature regulating properties. It traps a heat layer against the body and maintains this layer even when wet. Besides that it has proved to offer a 35% increase in thermal efficiency, in dry and saturated conditions, over comparable synthetic linings. Merino lining is used in for example the 70% M-Flex 3mm Ultimate Vest, which you see on the photo below.
Within an innovation lab, this fabric has been developed and tested and dries 3 times faster than standard neoprene linings. The lining feels as a soft wool sweater and is placed in crucial locations in the chest and back to ensure maximum comfort. Lightweight, soft, hydrophobic lining with a specialized structure designed for fast drying, to improve comfort and warmth from cold wet conditions. The quickdry lining has high stretch properties with an unique square module pattern to allow air to circulate freely extending its performance. The quickdry lining is used in the M-Flex 100% Neoprene Ace Fullsuit.
Polar lining is a soft, non-itch, hydrophobic, thermal fleece lining. The polar lining acts as a barrier that repels water molecules from penetration through from the neoprene outer layer to the body, whilst holding less then 1% of its weight in water. The polar lining adds performance to our thicker neoprene products, for example the 80% M-Flex 4mm Ultimate Long John.
Xtend lining is a soft and comfortable, non-itch lining specifically used with superstretch neoprene to extend it's flexibility properties. It provides approximately 250% more stretch than standard nylon and adds performance to our lightweight neoprene products like the Nicholas Heiner signature Horizon Hiking Long John. It has high stretch areas with Xtend lining positioned at the hips for movement in hiking positions.
Metalite lining is a titanium coated lining that reflects heat back to the body and helps to regulate body temperature in both warm and cold conditions. It enables extremely lightweight products to be developed with great flexibility when wet, and its UV properties make it ideal for sunny conditions. Metalite lining is also used in our 1mm neoprene socks, designed to ensure temperature regulation to keep the foot comfortable in a range of temperatures and conditions.
WINNING: WETSUIT CLEANER FOR OPTIMAL CARE
Magic Marine Wetsuit Cleaner is a water-dilutable, environmentally friendly concentrate especially developed to clean neoprene wetsuits and accessories effectively. This formula eliminates all kinds of pollutions that have impact on the overall condition of your neoprene equipment (urine, sunscreen, dead skin cells, polluted (sea)water). The new Easy-On-Formula reduces the abrasive effect of neoprene on dry skin which results in less risk or skin irritation and making it easier to put your gear on and off.
If you follow Magic Marine on Instagram you can join the poll about our special wetsuit cleaner which we will launch next week. By the end of this month will pick three (new) followers for a giveaway set wetsuit cleaner!
